Since I've hit 50 I have been asked many a times how to go about making gil. Its really simple but also can take lots of time. From my experience, the best way to make cash is Gathering/Crafting. The reason for this is simple, people want to look cool. Now I know what your thinking, "Getting people to look good is not going to make me a Gillionare." Allow me to enlighten you.

A simple Spring Dress that looks like nothing special will go for over 200,000 gil. 200k!!! Its ridiculous and its not even hard to make. The problem lies in that you have to have a high level in weaving and have certain drops that only come from treasure maps. It takes time to get to that point but once your there, the gil comes pouring in.

Another way to make gil is to take advantage of us crafters. We always are in need of materials. Take up a Gathering class and go fetch! But be wary of what you are gathering cause not everything sells, and sometimes the lower level stuff will sell for more than the higher level stuff, you just have to keep an eye on the market board. Also, not all materials come from a gathering class. Many times they are a monster drop or a item that can only be found in a dungeon.
